LIVINGSTONE & LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK.

This safari combines Sindabezi Island Camp in Livingstone and Chongwe River Safari Camp in the Lower Zambezi. It covers the World Heritage Victoria Falls & one of Zambia's premier parks Lower Zambezi.

Combining these three areas in Zambia gives you an exceptional safari. The Lower Zambezi National Park - this park, scenically bordered by an impressive escarpment, has excellent game, which can be viewed from either the river or by land. Quietly drifting past a huge elephant feeding is a great experience.

DAY 1: LIVINGSTONE

Depart Lusaka, Zambia's capital city by scheduled flight to Livingstone. On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will be met and transferred to Tongabezi Lodge from where you will take a boat trip to Sindabezi Island Camp.

The Sindabezi Island Camp The Sindabezi Island Camp is three kilometers down stream from the lodge and accessed only from there by either motorized banana boat or canoe.

The birdlife is outstanding and game is often seen around the Island Camp.

DAY 2: LIVINGSTONE

There is a wide range of activities on offer at Tongabezi including fishing, canoe trips on the river, game drives in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. For the more adventurous, Livingstone boasts a whole host of adrenaline filled activities including whitewater rafting, bungee jumping and microlighting.

The day will end with a relaxed dinner served either in the main dining area or as a private meal outside of your room.

DAY 3: LOWER ZAMBEZI

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for flight to Lusaka. Connect onto the onward flight to Royal Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi. As you fly into the area, you will see the wide Zambezi River, dotted with islands. Buffalo and elephant are always seen feeding along with the pods of hippos that rest on the edge of the sandbanks.

Chongwe River Camp CHONGWE RIVER CAMP, only 20 mins from the airstrip, is situated on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, directly opposite Mana Pools. The Chongwe River is the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park.

Situated under a canopy of Albida thorns and surrounded by cool lawns, the 8 chalets are large, well appointed safari tents under thatch, with luxury ensuite open air bathrooms. The bathrooms are an experience on their own.

Gameviewing in the pristine Lower Zambezi National Park is superb and big game, such as elephant, hippo, buffalo and the big cats are even seen regularly in and around the camp! After a late lunch there will be a chance for an afternoon activity - be it on the river or by vehicle.

DAY 4: LOWER ZAMBEZI

At Chongwe River Camp there are various activities to choose from. Not only on offer are exciting day and night drives and bush walks, but guests can choose their own day's itinerary from a selection of canoe trips, river safaris on safe, stable pontoon boats and catch & release angling for the infamous tiger fish.

Enjoy another full day of activities.

After breakfast and farewells, a drive through the park to the airstrip to board a local flight to Lusaka for your onward international flight.
