Porini Wilderness Experience

DAY 1: NAIROBI/SELENKAY CONSERVANCY

Depart Nairobi and drive south to Selenkay Conservation Area arriving at Porini Camp on time for lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to a Maasai village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Thereafter enjoy sundowners at scenic points on the way back to the camp.

Overnight Amboseli Porini Camp

AMBOSELI PORINI CAMP consists of 9 spacious guest tents, comfortably furnished and with ensuite bathrooms including shower, wash basin and flush toilet.

The camp provides an exclusive experience catering to a maximum of 18 guests at a time.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing.

SELENKAY CONSERVANCY lies a few miles north of Amboseli National Park and is an important dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife migrating out of Amboseli.
Selenkay Conservation Area is well off the beaten track and has not been visited by tourists until now. It lies in the heart of Maasailand and the animals are truly wild and not yet habituated to the presence of vehicles.

Within the conservation area the following animals have been seen recently: elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Thompson's and Grant's gazelles, gerenuk, impala, Oryx, lesser kudu, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, warthog, striped hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox, caracal, African wild cat, serval cat, genet cat, honey badger, mongoose and ostrich. Birdlife is prolific, especially birds of prey.

Overnight Amboseli Porini Camp

PORINI RHINO CAMP is located in Ol Pejeta Conservancy a 90,000 acre wildlife conservancy situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snowcapped Mount Kenya.

Night drives are also taken to see the nocturnal animals. All the Big Five have been seen on game drives from the camp.

DAY 3: OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

Full day Ol Pejeta Conservancy with morning and afternoon game drives.

OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY is a 90,000 acre wildlife conservancy situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snowcapped Mount Kenya. OL Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including the non-indigenous chimpanzees and the big 5 (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion).

The Rhino Sanctuary In response to the drastic reduction in rhino numbers through poaching, Kenya decided to set up specially protected and fenced sanctuaries for rhino conservation. The creation of these sanctuaries was designed to maximize the breeding potential of rhinos, using surplus animals to re-stock any new areas. Sweetwater's game reserve is one such sanctuary.

Overnight Porini Rhino Camp

DAY 4: NANYUKI/MAAASAI MARA

Breakfast and transfer to Nanyuki Airstrip for the scheduled flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will be met at the airstrip by safari guide in 4x4 safari vehicle and transferred to the camp for check in.

Overnight Porini Lion Camp

PORINI LION CAMP with 10 luxury guest tents the camp is very exclusive and giving you a real in the bush experience. The tents are very spacious and have private verandahs along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private 'space' for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness.
And escorted bush walks with Maasai warriors and safari guide, where you can get an insight into the Maasai people, their way of life and also learn more about the animals, birds and plants of the Mara.

DAY 5: MAASAI MARA

Today enjoy full day game drive with picnic lunch in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE - Maasai Mara is the "new eighth wonder of the natural world" and Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary.

Game drives in the Mara offer breathtaking views of an extraordinary density of animals including all the big five and many varieties of plains game as well as thousands of birds of prey.
