East Africa is formed by three countries Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Of the three countries, Tanzania is the largest country and one of the most unique safari destinations.

Never Ending Variety

Tanzania is situated south of Equator and covers 938,000 sq km with the estimated population of about 30 million people. The climate is tropical and there are two rain seasons the longer being March through May and the short between October and November. The dry season starts from July through October with clear sky and sunshine the whole day. The country has more than 120 tribes. Each tribe has its own vernacular language. Although there are many languages "Kiswahili" was adopted to be the National Language since 1961 right after independence.

Tanzania has the finest wildlife habitat in Africa and abounds in a wide variety of animal and bird life. It's definitely a perfect holiday destination boasting of some of the best national parks and game reserves in Africa with a vast range and diversity of wildlife. Many areas remain untouched by humanity and it is still quite possible to enjoy a traditional tented safari as the famous explorers of old times did many years ago. Tanzania is also the country of Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain and Zanzibar, the jewel in the Indian Ocean.
