Wildlife Encounters Trail

DAY 1: NAIROBI/TSAVO

Depart from Wilson Airport Nairobi by a light aircraft to Tsavo West National Park. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airstrip and transferred to the camp for check in. Lunch and afternoon game drive.

Overnight Finch Hatton's Camp

Finch Hatton's Camp FINCH HATTON'S CAMP: Denys Finch Hatton was one of Kenya's great adventurers. He devoted his life exploring the wild in style. In his camp, dinner was served on fine china with silver and crystal, while the gentle strains of Mozart played in the background.

Finch Hatton's lies at the heart of Tsavo West National park, part of Kenya's single largest game reserve. It is unfenced and wild.

The camp accommodates guests in large safari tents with en suite bathrooms, brass fittings, large mirrors, WC, hot and cold running water and showers. Each tent has a clothes rack, wooden Swahili chest, bookshelves and an antique writing desk.

The tents have electricity, with shaver outlets for 110v and 220v, hairdryer and a fully stocked minibar fridge. All tents have panoramic views of the surrounding springs and forests, large deck balconies with chairs, tables and daybed.

DAY 2: TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Today enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Tsavo West National Park.

TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK was established in 1948 and is bordered by Taita Hills to forests at the water margins.

It borders Tanzania to the south east with areas of unending succession of fantastic views accross the plains dotted with fin graphite, marble and sulphite deposits.

Overnight Finch Hatton's Camp

DAY 3: TSAVO/NAIROBI/NAIVASHA

Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Wilson Airport Nairobi. Met upon arrival and transferred by road to Naivasha ariving for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Guests are free to participate in number of activities that include game drives in the ranch, nature walks, horse back riding, boat rides on Lake Naivasha to Crescent Island and bird watching.

Overnight Loldia House

Loldia House LOLDIA HOUSE: Nestling under the acacia and wild fig trees on the green western shores of Lake Naivasha, the present Loldia House was constructed by Italian prisoners of war from stone quarried on the farm. Built around a courtyard, its main archway frames a stunning view of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot.

Loldia House was established by a settler who came to Kenya by ox-wagon after the Boer War and is still owned by the same family today.

He was a renowned horseman who chose this beautiful corner of Kenya to enjoy all that was best in the early Kenyan Lifestyle.

Loldia House offers the highest standards of cuisine and personalised service. Dinners take place in the Dining Room which is decorated in colonial style.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for full day game drive with picnic lunch.

LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK is a small, shallow, alkaline-saline lake located in a closed basin without outlets in the Eastern Rift Valley.

The park abounds with other game as well. There are huge herds of waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and more. Exploring beyond the lake is always rewarding and there are forests, cliffs, waterfalls and more to be found here.

Return to Naivasha late in the afternoon.

Overnight Loldia House

DAY 5: NAIVASHA/MAASAI MARA

Breakfast and rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch transfer to Loldia Airstrip for the scheduled flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Upon arrival you will be met at the airstrip by your driver guide who will take you on game drive en-route to your camp.

Overnight Rekero Camp

Rekero Camp Rekero Camp is situated in the midst of the Maasai Mara Conservation Area, part of the Serengeti Mara Ecosystem.

The camp is open from June to October and again from December to March and caters for between four to twelve guests. The most striking feature at Rekero is the waterhole on the far side of the lawn at which guests may have extremely close encounters with local wildlife.

There are seven spacious tents in the style of a mobile camp with rustic twin double bedrooms, each with private en-suite facilities. From the dining area guests have excellent views of wildlife at the waterhole, when it is illuminated at night time.

Here you will get the feel of being closer to a more natural Africa.

Meals consist of wholesome farmhouse fare, and a friendly and capable staff takes care of laundry and housekeeping.

DAY 6: MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Full day Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives.

MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE - Maasai Mara is the "new eighth wonder of the natural world" and Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary.

Game drives in the Mara offer breathtaking views of an extraordinary density of animals including all the big five and many varieties of plains game as well as thousands of birds of prey.

DAY 7: MAASAI MARA/NAIROBI

Early morning game drive then breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi arriving Wilson Airport at 1215hrs at the end of your safari.
